Domain Investment News - Locate, Evaluate & Acquire Valuable Domains

 Thursday, February 22, 2007

With all the things going on in our lives/businesses it's challenging to always stay on top of all the opportunities available to us.   That's why were releasing a new feature in DomainersEdge which will allow you to stay on top of the domains of particular interest to you.   With this new feature you don't need to be digging through the domain database everyday, instead you just tell us what you're looking for and our engine does the heavy lifting on your behalf.  When we find what you're looking for we tell you about it.

"My Reports" emails will be live for DomainersEdge members within the next 48 hours.  What this means to you is that you can recieve daily emails with updates on domains which are available right now, are in auction, or are dropping soon which are of particular interest to you.

Here's how it works..

Within the DE interface under "Favorite Searches" create specific search criteria for domains you're looking for.  You can create a favorite search on virtually any criteria to really drill down to your specific interests.  The possibilities are limitless, but here are a few examples of Favorite searches you might set up.  "Show me domains which:

  1. Have PR greater than 4
  2. Contain a keyword (like foreclosure, marketing, wedding or whatever) and have backlinks listed in   Google and MSN.
  3. Have Ovt/TLD, Backlinks from Google and are listed in the DMOZ directory.
  4. Or any other combination of Indicators of traffic and domain characteristics."

Then, each day we compile your favorite searches into email format and send it to you.

The superior tools within DomainersEdge is the result of member feedback.  Listen to the audio below to hear a quick audio recording on how your feedback makes all the difference and check out some of the new features coming down the pipe:

Here's some of the new Features:

1. Allow sorting by multiple columns.   Just like in excel you can sort by column A then Column B, Then column D.   It would be helpful for members to be able to do this same thing when looking at all domain lists.

2. Add
reports that demonstrate what domains actually sell for so that people who are bidding in auctions have better information and we can better evaluate the resale value of domains.

We will monitor the domain sales at the various domain marketplaces and database all of this data along with the indicators of traffic for those domains at the time of the sale.  The reason is, we want to know... when they sold, what were the indicators.   This will help us predict what a domain in auction right now might be sold for.

Damn!  Last week I had another bad experience with Godaddy which I'd like to share with our members....

I think Godaddy has a lot of great things going for it, but we have to remember they're services are often not Domain Investor/Entrepreneur friendly.

After winning premium domain name in auction for more than $4500, Godaddy says the previous registrant finally emerged from the cave they were living in for the last 100 days and wanted this generic domain back.   What are the odds?

them for availability.

This new tool was based upon a suggestion
from a Premium member.

I love feedback and suggestions so please
check out the typo tool and let me know
what you think.   AND, if you have any
other ideas for features, please let me know.

Business Blogging

Business is entering a new era of blog marketing and public relations that will forever change the way they communicate with consumers. Business blogs will also change how better informed consumers make their future buying decisions. Blogs provide all businesses with the highest possible level of personalized “business to consumer” dialogue and communication that has never been available before.

The Domain Industry is becoming quite popluar with the press.  This is the second article in the USA Today this month.

+++++++++++

Domain names become premium Web real estate

SAN FRANCISCO — Everyone should have Amy Schrier's problem.

For six months, she resisted selling the domain name Blue.com for $200,000. Using a formula she devised to fetch the highest market value for domain names, Schrier eventually convinced a private party that Blue.com was worth $500,000. Since the name was sold in March, its site now includes links to sexual material and airfare ads.

"The market will really explode when people realize they are sitting on premium real estate," says Schrier, 37, an entrepreneur in New York who bought Blue.com for $65,000 in 2002.

How to Locate and Secure "Valuable" Domains:

It's not easy being a successful domain investor. In my humble opinion, the vast, vast majority of domains are totally worthless, but people are buying this crap left and right! It's nuts! Listen, you've got to have the right strategies, tools and information to get your hands on the domains that produce revenue even while you sleep.

The mission at Domainer's Edge is to provide Domainers with the tools and information needed to easily find and secure valuable domains.

If you have a domain that sounds cool, "Fantastic...so what?" If you have a domain that's perfect for development, "good for you... who cares?" Some people might, but not me! As an investor, I want domains that currently produce traffic. I don't want to develop websites. I don't want to spend my life "tweaking" crap for higher SEO rankings. Call me lazy, I don't care.

I know from experience that there's good money to be made by picking up domains which produce type in traffic or have residual traffic from a previous "not so lazy guy" who put a lot of time and energy into developing a domain then closed up shop. Thanks, buddy, I'm happy to pick up your wasted efforts and turn them into profits!

This site is devoted to helping other "lazy" people like me find the rare diamonds in the rough and make s#*t loads of money. If that sound good to you, check out our free reports tools. Use them right and you'll make a few bucks. In the coming months, I'll make some premium tools available that are going to scare the crap out of a lot of the establishment. Ha, Ha!

If you like the kind of stuff I'm talking about here, sign up for the "Opinion Letter" (most people call it a newsletter, but not me since you're just going to hear my one sided opinion. Whether you agree or not, I don't care!)
